I had an absolutely great day with Jenna and Chad on their beautiful wedding day. What a great bridal party and stunning couple. I chose some special locations for them, based on the city feel they wanted.

On that note. I often get asked where I find my locations for engagements and wedding portraits. As a photographer, I see the world a bit differently than most. I see light, shape, colour and texture. I visualize my couple in that environment. I never stop looking for great and unique spots. The locations I choose are often out in the open, and ones that many of you drive by every day, but I shoot them in a way that they look completely different. This one in particular I found while driving with my boys and knew then and there that I had to have Jenna and Chad’s photos there. It just so happens that I was having photos taken a few days after so I took advantage of my little find. I think these give a great urban feel without all the grunge of a back alley

What a beautiful day for a Friday wedding! Although the threat of rain all week ultimately ended up making this couple change their ceremony venue to inside (was originally planned to be at Kendra’s parents farm), the day turned out beautifully.

I had the most incredible opportunity to capture a multi-day wedding celebration in honour of Samira and Chris. The culture and traditions are so rich and a detail photographer’s dream! Samira spoke in detail about her desire to have her and Chris’ portraits in an unexpected location. A stunningly beautiful bride and groom in a derelict back alley. A busy park. You know…somewhere you wouldn’t expect them to be.
